FocusGate is a website blocker. It is designed so that it cannot see your browsing — the block list you create never leaves your device.
Your block list, schedule, and focus settings are stored locally in your browser using the browser's extension storage. FocusGate blocks sites using the browser's declarativeNetRequest system: you give the browser a list of sites to block and the browser enforces it. Crucially, this means the extension does not read, receive, or monitor the pages you visit — it has no access to page content and no content scripts. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no remote code, and sends nothing anywhere.
declarativeNetRequest is what lets FocusGate block sites at the network layer without seeing your browsing. storage saves your block list and settings locally. alarms lets it apply your schedule and focus-session timing. FocusGate requests no host permissions and injects no scripts into any page.
Pro upgrades are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. When you choose to upgrade, ExtensionPay handles the checkout and stores the email address you provide to manage your licence; the extension only queries ExtensionPay to check whether your copy is licensed. We never see or store your card details. See the ExtensionPay privacy policy and the Stripe privacy policy.
We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties, other than the payment processing described above. There is nothing else to share.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
